The apocalypse has come and passed. Fires, floods, disease, famine, wars and winds were the forces that brought about the end. In the final days, the last survivors took watched the fires climb the faces of their mountain refuge. Without knowing why, they gathered all their hopes and prayers and wishes and buried them in a hole overlooking what had once been the world. As the fires reached them, they dreamed of magic.
For eons after, the Earth drifted quietly through space, free from the noise of even a single beating heart. Until one day, a mound of earth at the top of a mountain begins to stir. A body rises from the dirt. And with it, Hope.
